Easter Saturday with Friends

Easter is a great time of year, bringing families together. We are lucky Seabrook hosts an annual Easter egg hunt at Rex Meador Park. I took Carys last year when she had just started walking and she had a great time, enjoying the eggs more than the candy prizes inside. So it was planned this year we would go, Cathy was in town visiting and we invited our close friends, the Lowells and Allens to join us.
It was a sunny day, we took Carys and Ava in the running stroller.
Here is Carys practicing running to get to the eggs. They had two bouncie houses that Carys did enjoy before the actual race started.
It was such a windy day but blue skys. It was a special treat that Uncle Keith and Auntie Laura were visiting from Dallas this weekend. This was the first time they met Ava, I was pregnant with her at their wedding in May of 2010.
TJ and Carys waiting for the Easter Bunny and the Mayor of Seabrook to say go!
A great loot! TJ and Carys walking back with their eggs.
Now time to go through the eggs to see if there are any tickets in them. There are a few eggs that have door prize tickets to redeem big prizes. No luck this year, but lots of candy and most importantly, eggs! Carys loves those plastic eggs.
Then back to the house where we had lunch for everyone. Carys and Charlotte ate at the little table.
We exchanged gifts for the kids, Carys loved the egg etch-a-sketch.
Charlotte got a new purse filled with accessories, the most imortant one, the pink blackberry phone. She really liked Carys' at Spring Break, so we got Charlotte her own.
Miss Ava wearing an Easter hat.
All three girls, Carys, Charlotte and Ava. Such fun it is to spend Easter Saturday with good friends.

The Cedar Chateau

"It takes hands to build a house, but only hearts can build a home. "-Author Unknown
Grandma Cathy "Grams" thought the girls would enjoy a playhouse and made plans to be Houston for the grand unveiling. She wanted to see the priceless expression on Carys' face when she saw a little home for her and her sister to enjoy for years to come. TJ worked secretly for three days, while the girls were asleep. We did not know the Cedar Chateau from Sam's was going to be so involved with at least a thousand pieces.
Not only did he have hundreds of screws, he also had to predrill their holes so that the boards would not split!
The grand unveiling!
What a face!
The house has a clock.
A sink!
Grams and Ava sitting on bench while Carys checks out the house.
A working doorbell!
Carys' favorite thing about the house, the telephone.
Carys loves to push open the shutters. Such joy.
There are two bay windows on the house, that was part of what took time to assemble the house.
Grams bought Carys some pots and pans and a toaster so she can cook in her little house.
Carys' first visitors, Charlotte and Aunt Jackie!
Auntie Kim also came for a visit, Carys served her "lunch".
The little playhouse has been a great addition to our backyard, providing a place of shade as well as the little kitchen for Carys to enjoy. Ava loves crawling in and out of the door. Many lizards have taken up the playhouse as a cool hiding spot. It has also been the source of jealousy of many grown women saying, I never had that. One thing is for sure, Carys and Ava are very lucky girls. Thank you Grams and Daddy.

Ava at 9 Months Almost Walking!

Ava, my Ava...that is what Carys calls her little sister. Now that Ava has mastered crawling, Carys has a playmate. At 20 lbs and 28 inches, Ava is above average for weight and height.
With her eight teeth, she has started eating meats, she loves ground beef. She also loves the little star puffs.

Drinking from a sippy cup is no challenge and she drinks her bottles on her own. She has rediscovered the pacifier, it was in the crib as she liked to chew on it but now when we go in to pick her up after a nap, it is in her mouth.

She is a mover, crawling like a rocket. Carys loves playing follow the leader, crawling with Ava.

She is so good at crawling that, quite often, she has a toy in her hand, if not both.

She is so curious, and wants to go everywhere her sister is.

Ava, the Yankees fan. Ava pulls up like a champ now, not needing any assistance. She has started to walk with her stroller. Ava also likes to do the furniture walk.

Carys at the same age.

Carys the Frog

Carys, our 2 year old, pretending to be a frog. She has not yet mastered the art of hopping but I totally see a frog.
