Spring Break Zoo Trip 2012

With Carys and Ava having a lot of interest in animals, we thought taking them to the zoo over spring break would be great.  We got there early, as we knew it was going to be busy.  We started in the African forest because we had not spent much time there before.  The girls loved playing in the huts.
 Sweet Ava 20 months.
Cutie Carys 3 years and 1 month.
Carys riding her favorite animal, the elephant.  She loves it because of the trunk sound and stomp stomp.
Ava on her favorite animal, the monkey.  She has always had the best monkey sound.  Oooh Oooh aaah aaaah
The Houston Zoo has a great giraffe exhibit.
The children's part of the zoo is just their size.
A must on every trip, the river otter slide.
This was the first time Carys would participate in a petting zoo, we have taken her before but she was always unsure.  Not this time, she is getting two hands in there for a good pet.  Ava took her time petting every goat she could find.
The zoo is a place we love to visit.

My Best Friend's Wedding

Adina is my best friend, we have known each other since the 3rd grade and it is amazing how our lives have been on different paths but always seem to intersect.  We went to all the same grade schools and we were even college roommates at SFA.  Adina got married on March 10, 2012 and I was her matron of honor.
I think it is pretty special because she was my maid of honor when I got married on July 3, 2004.  I had no idea how much work went into being a MOH until planning for Adina's wedding.  She did such an outstanding job, I wanted to do the same for her.
If you haven't already figured it out, Adina and I look very much alike.  My daughter Carys looked at this photo and said, "Two mommies".
Here we are at Project Graduation, the night we graduated Clear Lake High School.
This was the day her parents included me in their family vacation to Puerto Vallarta when we were freshman in high school.
This picture is epic, taken the last day of eighth grade, yes we planned it, for so many years in Girls Scouts we were told we looked like twins.  We even pretended we were twins in Mexico.  Always fun to pretend to have a sister, the sister I never had.
We are both blessed with beautiful, wonderful mothers that have made us strong individuals.  I look forward to more comparison photos when we are grandmothers.
