Since Carys turned one and started walking, life has become much simpler. She has become a full-fledged toddler, "toddling" all over the place.
She can walk herself to the car in the morning, while I carry out the three or more bags it takes to get her to daycare and me to work. It used to require at least two trips for me to load the car in the morning.
If you ask her where do we take a bath, she will walk to her bathroom door and tap on it. If you ask her if she wants milk, she will walk to the fridge and tap on the door. She will drink milk out of her sippy and when it is time to go, she will place it in the diaper bag for safe keeping.
She enjoys helping around the house. She likes to push doors closed and pushing in chairs at the table. When I was taping her new room to be painted, she lent her little finger to push the tape secure.
She helps "pick" things up. If something falls on the floor, she will pick it up and place it on the table. Today I was folding her laundry and she helped me by taking all the folded clothes off the couch and the laundry she had pulled out and placed it all back "neatly" into the clothes basket. She had good intentions.
For the past two days, when we asked her if she was ready for bed, she even walked herself to her crib. We will see how long that one lasts.
I cannot say I have all these cute small events on film but I do have two. She likes to help put away gorceries. (I took this video after she had put away several bottles, she does get tired and sits down in the end. Just know that the first 24 seconds are really all you need to watch)
She also likes to help put away dishes, it takes three times as long to unload the silverware but I do not plan to discourage her readiness to help.
She amazes us everyday, she can identify ducks easily and can find turtles as well. She wants to read books and turns pages. She understand the logistics of shoes and will sit on the floor and try her best to put them on. She is starting to sing "Eee-i-e-i-oooo" and continues to play "Patty cake" and especially loves the "roll it" part. We continue to brag about her thinking she is very advanced.
