M-I-C...see you at our house, K-E-Y...why? Because Carys is turning 3! The theme was set for Carys' third birthday party. We had all sorts of activities planned for outside, including the bouncie castle and then it kept raining, and raining, and raining. We waited until noon to call it, and decided to move everything indoors. 19 adults, 10 kids and 3 infants...all in our little home! I could feel the stress coming in on me. Luckily we had cleared out the garage, moving our lawn equipment to our neighbor's house. We had a big room for activities...activities I came up with totally last minute, thank goodness I was a girl scout!

There was more than enough food and snacks for everyone.

I made the grapevine wreaths for party favors.

When I picked up the cake, the lady was surprised by how excited I was...I explained that everything else had not been working out that morning but the cake was perfect!

Favors and activities ready! I used empty water bottles to make sound shakers and the scavenger hunt clues were ready to go. Coloring pages and bandanas ready!

Carys, the birthday girl!

Carys and Ava showing their special shirts. I love the Disney font..Mickey for Carys and Minnie for Ava. Just right.

Ava doing a great job of greeting our guests. Ava would not stop hugging Charlotte!

We started the party with coloring in the garage while we waited for everyone to arrive. Carys loved sitting with the other big girls Kate and Charlotte.

The infants, Parker with his dad, James and Paiton with her mom, Amber. Love the paint can background but what can you do with Plan B?

Our littlest guest, Gracelyn with her mom, Stacy.

Gracelyn's big brother Logan is in the background playing with the bowling pins, while Casey, Charlotte and Kate made sidewalk chalk artwork.

Aunt Jackie coloring with Aubrey with her mom Brittany and her dad Birney. Ava is on the floor probably eating chalk, and getting as dirty as possible.

Paiton with Mrs Patty. Paiton is the third mousekateer at daycare with Carys and Ava. Just the three girls and Mrs Patty.

In the garage, after coloring up a storm...while the storm was settling outside...we created water bottle sound shakers. With some rice, black beans, beads and glitter, the kids had a great time creating their bottles. When they were all done, they were instructed to march through the house...making as much noise as possible. We would have a Mickey parade...ears optional. I lead the way...

Mrs Patty with Ava marching.

Aubrey marching with her mom.

Kate, Carys and Charlotte...the parade did not last long...not a big house, but they had a great time.

With all the kid's attention, I gave the special instructions to the scavenger hunt. There were mouse ears around the house...if you want a Mickey prize you were to chose a Mickey pair of ears, if you wanted a Minnie prize, you were to pick a Minnie pair of ears. Then they were to report back to me to match the secret code to their secret prize...anticipation mounting...and then they were off!

Carys chose a Mickey prize, of course!

Pretty Kate chose Minnie.

The kids reporting back to me to match their codes and receive their prize.

Then pin the flower on Minnie...everyone to Carys' room! Kate went first, Carys cheered her on.

Carys' turn, I am still surprised she let me blindfold her!

Charlotte's turn.

Logan was next, he got the Mickey bandana.

Ava took a turn.

Then Aubrey, she is two weeks older than Ava.

Ethan held mom's arm to place the flower. Now that Minnie was all decorated, off to the next event, the pinata!

Carys went first whacking the pinata. We used a golf club, it was what we had. Sorry Tom.

Charlotte next.

Kate took a turn. Stacy holding onto Logan. All parents were on high alert with the swinging golf club.

Logan had a great swing.

Go Ethan, with his mom Erin.

Carys cheering and screaming the entire time, "Whack it!"

Just in time! Brodie and Lincoln arrive. Brodie takes several hard swings and Lincoln cheers.

Sweet Aubrey with dad's help.

Ava took a turn in here too. (My picture somehow got deleted) She tried to use the golf club the correct way, not as a bat. But with the help of dad, made contact. We saved Casey for last, she sent the candy flying.

Then TJ pulled the lever and the mad sugar rush began!

Logan with his lollipop bouquet.

Ava made one too and would not give it up for anything. The rain finally stopped, so the kids could go outside on the deck and play in the house while TJ grilled the hot diggity dogs. The backyard was a mud pool and sadly not able to play on the new swingset.

All the kids had a great time inside the playhouse, though.

Cake time! Carys waving to Aunt Jackie. Three red candles!

Yum, cake and ice cream.

Ava too!

With their fill of cake and the beginning of meltdowns, our guests started to leave one by one until only our family remained. Auntie Kim helped Carys open all her presents.

The best part of the night, playing with the balloons. According to Carys, you need three things for a birthday party, balloons, cards and cake. Done, Done and Done. Happy Mousekabirthday my sweet, sweet Carys, we love you.
