On Sunday, Second Chance Pets hosted an Easter egg hunt for dogs. So TJ, Carys, Macy, Maya and I walked to the park not knowing what to expect. There was a Easter bonnet contest, so I made necklaces for the girls knowing they would stay on better than a hat. Unfortunately we were a few minutes late and missed that contest but I still think Macy and Maya were the cutest and would have won an award...if not for the mini-me factor.
The first event we saw was the Easter egg hunt. There were two areas, one for dogs under 35 pounds and then one for the big dogs. We took Macy and Maya into the big dog area first. They were very well behaved interacting with the other dogs.

The dogs were supposed to pick up the eggs with their mouths, but we had to do a little coaxing. The eggs were filled with treats and Macy has never been a dog to beg for treats. Maya loves treats but she was a little too nervous to care but she sure enjoyed the treats when the hunt was through. After that the dogs could have their picture taken with the Easter bunny and there was obstacle course demonstration. Everyone had a great time and returned home tired. Carys will really enjoy going next year.
Wow! You did it! I am so happy you started this when Carys is soo little. I really wish I had known about it when Grant was a newborn.
ReplyDeletePictures of your Pups were adorable. That and that sweet little baby on TJ's chest! Nice usage of the Baby Bjorn! Can't wait to see you all!
