Now that Carys is 1.5, we have to watch what we say and do as she is our little parrot. Her vocabulary has been growing and we will be talking and all of a sudden she mimics one of the words in our speech. She also copies our actions, when I vacuum, she pulls out her corn popper to help. She picks up mats to shake them and also pretends to wash the dogs. She is very observant. Her latest thing is to go shopping with Grandpa. Carys loves purses and bags, she quite often walks around our house with a bag on each arm, so one day Grandpa decided to take her to the Ship's Store to fill her bag. It has turned into "their thing" to do together. Grandpa takes her to the store, with a bag from home, and let's her make decisions on what she would like to "buy".

So many choices, but there is one thing she definitely puts into her bag, peanut butter crackers. We wonder if it is because she can actually see the treat, but Carys loves to fill her bag with this little packages. On this day she actually filled her bag with 15 packages of peanut butter crackers, one by one.

Then she found cereal containers that look like blocks, oh boy this looks like a good treat.

She had to keep going back for more, double fisting it.

OK Carys, how much fiber do you really need?

When she finishes with her selections, she puts them up on the counter, just like mommy does when we go to the store.

Two by two she puts up her packages of peanut butter crackers, leaving the candy bars in the bag.

Once Phillip scans them, he hands them back to her to put them in her bag. She did take notice when she only got 2 packages of peanut crackers back...not 15.

Then Carys comes home and shows everyone what she got when she was shopping. She likes sharing. It is very cute and reminds me of when Jamie and I were little. My dad would sometimes stop at the Circle K to get a car magazine and Jamie and I would be allowed one candy each. You can see where we rank on Grandpa's scale because Carys comes home with at least 4 candies and peanut butter crackers. It's a good thing she shares!
OMG could she get any cuter!I can't wait for her and Grant to get together. It is going to be so fun to watch them play. Good job Grandpa on helping Carys with her excellent selections!
